Besides looking forward to winter, since spring we have been meeting for another activity: running the Válcovenské steps.
If you live in or around Frýdek-Místek, you probably know these steps. Made of metal grating, they remain grippy in rain and snow and lead up through the woods. There are 213 of them, plus thirteen concrete steps as a bonus.
Around fifty members of Otužilci FM have joined us over spring and summer, with ten to twenty usually taking part in a session. Children of all ages are welcome too.
We meet every Saturday at 9am and Wednesday at 5.30pm for forty minutes. Everyone goes at their own pace: some walk, others alternate walking and running. It is still a shared activity, with faster runners never disappearing off ahead.
We want our surroundings to look nice, so we also held a volunteer clean-up around the steps.
