The 2024/2025 season finale and Cold-Water Duathlon

After six months of winter swimming together, we joined our friends from Beskydský ledoborec in Frýdlant nad Ostravicí to say goodbye: to the river, the weir and one another. Of course, we still see each other during the summer, but without the organised, regular meet-ups.

Thank you to everyone who donated to our publicly viewable bank account. We raised enough to make the event a good one, without having to improvise where there was no need. Proper race numbers, medals and plenty of prizes across lots of categories all cost money. Thanks to you, we had it this year.

Our experiment with a children's race deserves a mention too: it worked well. I think next year we will plan the children's category further in advance and announce it alongside the adult races.

Enough talk. Thank you all for helping and taking part. Have a look at the photos and video, and I look forward to seeing you on Saturday 4 October 2025, when we begin our seventh season. In the meantime, try doing something for your health — perhaps a workout at the gym, or a run with us on the Válcovenské steps. We go down to the river for a swim afterwards… sometimes.
