How many of you swim? Fifty — sometimes more

Whenever I say that, almost anyone who organises group winter swims shakes their head in disbelief. Yes, fifty — sometimes seventy. Once we passed thirty, I stopped counting; it became impossible.

There is strength in numbers. If winter swimming in Frýdek-Místek is to last, we need a big group. Very few people keep going for two, three or more seasons, so there always needs to be a good pool of newcomers.

There are more than fifty of us in this photo, with at least another fifteen already in the water. The season is only just beginning and real winter is around the corner. I hope everyone pictured here will also be in the end-of-season photo.
